‘Pick-and-Choose’ method of Bible study.
Most Christians believe that the phrase, “holding the four winds of the earth”
(Rev 7:1) has a fulfillment
only in these last days at the time of the 144,000, —
and they are correct!
—But, interestingly, they
fail to understand that
the prophecies before (which are the
seven seals) and
the prophecies after Revelation 7 (which are the
seven trumpets),
also have a fulfillment to the last generation and the 144,000. Many Christians
pick-and-choose what they want to believe, not only in prophecy, but in Righteousness also!
Christians may
pick a prophecy, i.e. the
144,000 (
Rev 7), to have a fulfillment
in the last days, and then
choose to believe that the prophecies
on both sides (the
seals (
Rev 6) and
trumpets (
Rev 8-9) have a fulfillment
ONLY in past history. Some churches place the fulfillment of
most prophecies
only in past history; and other churches place
the same prophecy only in the future. There seems to be little understanding that Daniel and Revelation’s prophecies are extensions of
Sanctuary and its services; —that these prophecies work together to explain
Christ in His Sanctuary, past, present, and future.
Preconceived ideas will keep many from understanding that the “little book [is] open!” (And it has been open for many years!)
The Old Testament Sanctuary teaches its lessons using
type to understand antitype —both in symbol and in service! Thus, the books of Daniel and Revelation
explain the plan of redemption foretold in the Sanctuary —in type and antitype— by their prophecies! We have a need to come to
a more complete understanding of the purpose of the prophecies. —
Not only were most of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation
fulfilled in prophetic history —which is the type of prophetic fulfillment— BUT
the same prophecies, i.e. the seven churches, seven seals, and seven trumpets,
etc.,
also have a more direct fulfillment in the last days,
—which is the antitype fulfillment!
The method of study we use for understanding Daniel and Revelation for these last days,
pick-and-choose OR
Type and Antitype, will determine to a greater extent than we now understand, —our decisions, our actions, and thus, our salvation during the last events of earth’s history!
Our salvation comes from Jesus, the Mighty Angel of the Rainbow Covenant, who has in His hand the
open book of
seven thunders.

“We have the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the spirit of prophecy. Priceless gems are to be found in the word of God .
Those who search this word should keep the mind clear.
Never should they indulge perverted appetite in eating or drinking.

They will be given such glimpses of the open gates of heaven that heart and mind will be impressed with the character that all must develop in order to realize the blessedness which is to be the reward of the pure in heart. {TM 114.3}

seek humbly and meekly to understand that which is revealed in the Revelation.
This book contains so much that is large with immortality and full of glory that all who read and search it earnestly
receive the blessing to those ‘that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.’”
