1260 Days—
Spring of 2024  to  Fall of 2027

Will the prophecies of Daniel 12 be the ONLY
timelines and events to be fulfilled as last-day events?

Why is the Primary Message of Daniel and Revelation LEFT OUT?

Introduction—
The following is an email sent March 11, 2024 to a few friends.

Email—
I am concerned about the teaching which uses ONLY Daniel 12 as the basis for a fulfillment of literal time, starting in the Spring of 2024 and extending 1260 days or 3˝ years, ending in the Fall of 2027 —the Second Coming. Although I have written 28 pages of reasons why this teaching cannot be fulfilled, -in this letter I give only one of these reasons . . .

This teaching does not include the timelines for . . .
—the temple of God,
—the altar,
—and the judgment of the Church!

The primary reason for the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation which have a fulfillment in the last days is so that we may know when “the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” Rev 10:7 The disciples asked when (Matt 24:3), Daniel asked when three times (Dan 8:13; 12:6, 8), and John in Revelation asked when (Rev 6:10); and Jesus answered this question for each. The books of the Old Testament repeat this interesting theme; especially does Moses answer this question! Sometimes you would think that ‘when’ is the most important question to this last generation, —both saints and unbelievers. The prophecies of Daniel not only clearly define the final event, but place that event at the end of the most important timeline for the last generation to understand. That final event is NOT FOUND in Daniel 12, so then, if we are to believe that the prophecies of Daniel, the ‘little book open’ in Revelation 10 are to be fulfilled as last-day events, then we must conclude that using ONLY Daniel 12 timelines, 1260 literal days, DOES NOT fulfill the necessary prophecies for the last days! (Neither the 1290 or 1335.)
Nowhere in the prophecies of Daniel or Revelation, nor any place in the Bible, or in Ellen White’s writings, —can we find a scriptural basis for selecting ONLY Daniel 12 timelines to be fulfilled as last day events! The fact is, Revelation 10 clearly says that the seven thunders are read from the unsealed book of Daniel. (The unsealing of the book of Daniel is explained when the seven thundering events (EGW; 7BC 971.3-8) have their fulfillment as last-day events!) Christ, the Mighty Angel of Revelation 10, does not tell us that ONLY one chapter of Daniel (12), that ONLY one timeline foretells last-day events. Why would we resort to the ‘pick-and-choose’ method of interpretation? The Mighty Angel gives the entire book of Daniel, the explanation for the seven thundering events, to the last generation and they are to eat it all (vrs 8-10), not just a part of the book!
The Mighty Angel then gives us instruction to take the message of the seven thunders—which is Christ Our Righteousness in the finishing work (vrs 7) of the cleansing of the Soul/Heavenly Temple (Dan 8:14)  —and “Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” Rev 10:11.
The Mighty Angel continues His instruction by giving the last generation a way to measure the little book of seven thunders. “Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.” Rev 11:1. Rise (out of your armchair/bed/sleep) and measure the Temple of God. We are told what to measure, but the big question is, HOW are we to measure??? The answer is given in verse 2. Yes! There is no doubt that the measuring rod is Christ, but the measuring rod in this verse is shown to be time! We are to measure by using the prophetic timelines, which answers the when of seven last-day events, and would be explained/placed by literal time, a day-for-a-DAY! (evening/morningH6153/H1242; Compare Dan 8:14 & 26 to Gen 1:5– a creation day, 24 hours)  (Not a day-for-a-YEAR, which was the fulfillment of the historical ‘type.’ Dan 9:24H7620–“specifically of years”) Not only are we told how to measure, BUT we are told WHAT NOT TO MEASURE!  —YES, we the saints, are shown that we are NOT to be concerned about the “forty and two months” (1260 days, vrs 3) for “the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not “for it is given unto the Gentiles”! (Rev 11:2)  Question? If then —we the saints— are given the measuring rod of time to measure the temple of God, where do we find the prophetic timelines which will give us the measurements of “the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein?”  The timelines which we are to be concerned with are in Daniel 8 & 9, —how can we dare to leave them out?
The ONLY prophetic timeline which explains the events of the Heavenly Temple is found in Daniel 8! The first events (vrs 11-13) start the 2300 literal days and ends with the last great event, —the cleansing of the Soul/Heavenly Sanctuary, on the last great Day of Atonement. (vrs 14) “Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.” “at the time appointed the end shall be.” (Dan 8:17 & 19; H4150–mowed–Feast Day.)  Daniel 12 does not include these necessary events!  Both the 2300 days and 70 weeks (490 days) of Daniel chapters 8 and 9 explain the measuring of the “temple of God, and the altar.” Daniel 9:24 specifically explains the measuring of “them that worship therein” (which as it was in the historical type) is the judgment of the Church! “Seventy weeks (490 days) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city” (the last generation, individually and collectively, the Church).  In order to finish the mystery of God, the Church through Christ and His Righteousness will . . .
            1. . . “finish the transgression,
            2. . . make an end of sins,
            3. . . make reconciliation for iniquity,
            4. . . bring in everlasting righteousness,
            5. . . seal up the vision, (the ‘vision’ of Daniel 8 vrs 1-2, 13-17, 26-27; 9:21-23; 10:1)
            6. . . and [to seal up the] prophecy, (the prophecy of Daniel 8 vrs 11-14, 17, 19, 26)
            7. . . and to anoint the most Holy.”
(H6944, H6942; to be pronounced morally clean.)
This same opportunity/covenant was given in ‘type’ (end of 490 years) to the Church when Christ walked the streets of the holy city, Jerusalem. These same prophecies, all of them, apply more to us in these last days. These same prophecies, all of them, will have a more complete fulfillment as the antitype in these last days! The ONLY way that a complete message can be given as last-day events is when the final event the last great Day of Atonement—and its judgment timelines are included!

There is only one primary reason for the open little book which concerns the last generation —Christ Our Righteousness— and that is the end-time message of Daniel! There is only one immediate conclusion; that “The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one. One is a prophecy, the other a revelation; one a book sealed, the other a book opened. John heard the mysteries which the thunders uttered, but he was commanded not to write them.” {7BC 971.5} Why was John told not to write the seven thunders? —Because they were already written in the book of Daniel over 500 years before! Thus, it is ordained by the Mighty Angel that Daniel would be unsealed in the Revelation and become a living witness for the encouragement of the saints. Let us understand the broader prophecies coming from these two witnesses!

Satan has turned our heads so that we, as the Church, do not see the instruction of the Mighty Angel. God forbid that we allow this to continue! Jesus teaches in Matthew 25 that it was ALL the Church which are asleep to the timing of the event, —the marriage.  When is the marriage completed? —On the last great Day of Atonement, at the end of the 2300 literal days!  Then Jesus will come for His bride and take her home!
Ellen White states, “I believe the Sanctuary, to be cleansed at the end of the 2300 days, is the New Jerusalem Temple, of which Christ is a minister.” {A Word to the Little Flock, 12.8} The Heavenly Sanctuary was not cleansed in 1844! Thus, this statement is referring to the future timeline and event of the cleansing of the Heavenly Sanctuary! Dan 8:14

In closing, it is plain for all to see that I believe ALL the timelines and events of Daniel and Revelation (FS2) are going to not just have a repeating of their prophecies, but a more specific and complete fulfillment as last-day events!  Anything less than ALL invites ‘pick-and-choose’ and with it comes misunderstanding of last-day events and timelines! Therefore, because major prophecies, their timelines and events, are left out,  I conclude that the teaching of the 1260 days —from the Spring of 2024 to the Fall of 2027— cannot happen. Our Heavenly Father, through Jesus the Mighty Angel, has a clock and the alarm is set, there is no doubt. In the meantime it would do us well not to discourage even one soul by setting dates which cannot be fulfilled.

May God Bless,
Patrick McCoy

The chart below shows the important relationships of Daniel’s visions and how their prophetic messages work together for the salvation of the last generation. Daniel 8 & 9 are primarily preparing the Church for the evangelism of the world as portrayed in Daniel 11 & 12. The Transgression of desolation (8:13) is the U.S. National Sunday Law and the Abomination of desolation (11:31; 12:11) is the Universal Sunday Law which in turn sets up the Papacy for 1260 literal days or 3˝ years.
